Grjótá-Sandfell
A relative short hike, but steep.
Rewarded with a great view over the valley Vatnsdalur.

This is a little challenging hike up a steep slope of the Mt.Vatnsdalsfjall. The path is not a distinct one so it is important to follow the coordinates available for this hike. You should keep walking along the left side of the creek Grjótá making sure not to descend into the ravine itself. In addition to the hike being quite steep, parts of it are rough with loose rocks or coarse gravel. Beware of small gravel slides and loose rocks, especially when travelling in groups.
The top of the mountain is fairly flat and the track ends after the steepest part. Feel free to walk further but be careful and make sure to follow the same track down since there are steep cliffs on the west face of the mountain.
