Your journey begins at Guðmundarlundur on the southern hillside, and any direction you take on the circular path is equally rewarding. During summer, visitors are particularly urged to observe the birds as they traverse various ecosystems swiftly. You'll encounter everything from sparrows in the wooded areas and waterfowl near Elliðavatn. The trail is open throughout the year, though parking at the Kórinn gymnasium is advisable during snowy winter days. The paths vary, with some becoming damp during the rainy season, alongside dirt tracks and newly laid walkways.
Footpaths and bridleways crisscross the area. When walking or biking, remember that horses can be skittish around unfamiliar sights and sounds. A good practice is to step aside and remain still when encountering riders, allowing the horses to pass peacefully.
