The Hjalli Circle is a beautiful 8 km hiking trail in Heiðmörk. You can start the hike from, for example, Þjóðhátíðarlundur or Ullarplan by Heiðmerkurvegur. The trail is well marked with white poles and runs through diverse landscapes, including lava fields and birch forests. From the highest point of the route, there is a breathtaking view over Reykjavík, Bláfjöll, and the surrounding areas. The path can be wet and delicate when the ground is thawing. In winter, the trail is popular among cross-country skiers.
