16.7% decrease in June
Departures of foreign passengers from Iceland via Keflavik airport were about 195 thousand in June, according to figures from the Icelandic Tourist Board and Isavia, or about 39 thousand less than in June 2018. The decrease between years is 16.7%.
There has been a decrease in all months so far this year. In January the number of departures decreased by 5.8%, by 6.9% in February, by 1.7% in March, by 18.5% in April and by 23.6% in May .
If we look at induvidual markets the United States had the largest marked share in June, or 31%. The number of passengers frum US decreased by 35.1% from previous year.
Since the beginning of the year, 900,000 foreign passengers have departed from Iceland via Keflavík Airport, which is a decrease of 12.4% compared to the same period last year.
