Blue Lagoon Iceland received the 2024 Responsible Tourism Incentive Award
Blue Lagoon Iceland recently received a special recognition for excellent work in sustainability, circular economy, and nourishing tourism when it was announced that the company had received the 2024 Responsible Tourism Incentive Award. Eliza Jean Reid, the First Lady of Iceland, presented the award this year on Responsible Tourism Day during a ceremonial event and gathering in Gróska innivation center.
The stakeholders of the Responsible Tourism project looked to the selection of this year's company, noting that Blue Lagoon Iceland has long emphasized the circular economy and had sustainability principles as guiding lights in its operations.
Furthermore, it's important to look at how the company has a positive and formative effect on its immediate environment, employees work, nature, and guest safety. Special emphasis this year is placed on the aspect of nourishing tourism, which aims to go beyond carbon neutrality and is evolving towards delivering positive impacts to the destination.
